Green Hill of Tyrol
This lovely melody is not a Scottish song. It was written by Gioachino Rossini, a well known and prolific Italian composer. Among Rossini's work are The Barber of Seville and William Tell (in which this work occurs.) It is often part of the retreat ceremony on various forces bases, which closes the day with the lowering of the flag.
