The Barnyards o' Delgaty
This somewhat humorous song harks back to the days when farm workers were "fee'd" or hired for a set term of work and pay. Hiring fairs, or feeing markets, were common in the northeast of Scotland. Obviously, this young man has been taken in by an unscrupulous farmer. The horses he has to work with are not as promised.
